 |  | Transport Engineer (Contractor)
Duties:
Deliver Professional Services offered by the Schema Transport Networks organization to its customer’s predominantly wireless service providers. This position involves interacting directly with the carrier customer and their attendant engineering and business processes. Assisting the customer in defineing formal procedures for data extraction from the network or inventory management systems such as XNG or MetaSolv. Collecting required data from the network or inventory management systems such as LEC facilities, leased DS-1 and DS-3 circuits, cell site to switch (a-z) traffic requirements, existing leased or dark fiber rings, PSTN trunks or microwave links. Perform transport network analysis and optimization across the network. Present design and optimization results in sufficient detail to allow a suitable implementation plan to be built. Preparing formal documentation of Professional Service results. Providing weekly and monthly activity reports to both Schema and the customer. Participating in regular face-to-face meetings with the customer to review project status and milestones.
Travel:
To implement Schema’s Professional Services thi sposition will require frequent customer interaction and on-site visits. Travel will be up to 100% of the time.
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or other closely related fields. Solid, demonstrated industry experience within the required skill areas above will be considered in lieu of formal degree requirements.
Qualifications:

Two years in carrier network transport or data network planning, design, engineering, optimization, or testing is a must.

Extensive experience with network analysis, design and optimization in a carrier network environment that quantifies
-
the resultant impact on network capacity and cost.

Strong knowledge of the telecommunications transport hierarchy including SONET/SDH terminology.

Working knowledge of transport network management and implementation related issues in a leased circuit environment. plus Working knowledge in the LEC leased circuit tariff environment.

Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access. Scripting skills (Python, Perl, VBA) a plus

Previous experience utilizing third party network design and optimization software products in a carrier environment.

Previous experience working with inventory management systems such as XNG or MetaSolv.

Knowledge of emerging technology and business trends as they apply to the wireless service provider such as voice+data convergence, 3G+, etc.

 |  | RF Engineering Project Manager
Duties:
Coordinate and direct RF engineering projects.
Make detailed plans for the design, and optimization of wireless GSM and CDMA networks. Lead an RF engineering team in implementation of wireless network optimization solutions. Confer with customer’s management and engineering staff to identify their requirements in order to develop project specifications and procedures, and to establish implementation methodology.
Write project technical summary reports and deliver presentations to customers.
Direct RF engineering team in collection and analysis of customer performance data.
Elaborate before/after comparison reports. Define specific spectrum definition strategies for the particular market.
Review growth requirement with customer’s engineering staff.
Direct RF engineering team in optimization network performance, and implementation of parameters and system changes to meet project’s objectives.
Validate Drive Test data and predictions, using prediction and drive test tools. Ensure project is completed on time and within budget.
Prepare and submit weekly project status reports.
Recommend action to solve post implementation problems.
