| Improving GSM Network Quality - II |
|
|
In 2005, Schema applied its Ultima Forté™ product to optimize the RF network quality for a large Asian GSM operator in a very challenging market running Ericsson equipment.
Leveraging Schema`s optimization experience and Ultima Forté optimization capabilities, the customer defined two challenging goals: improve network quality by significantly improving KPIs, and provide the operator’s engineering team with the necessary experience for implementing Ultima Forté independently.
Project Objectives
-
Improve the user-perceived network quality using Schema’s automatic Ultima Forté RFP optimization product
-
Improve RF network KPIs
-
Provide the operator’s engineering teams with hands-on experience in using Ultima Forté on a live network and improve engineering efficiency
Project Results
-
The actual optimization cycle took only 3 weeks, enabling the RF engineers to improve and maintain their network KPIs at an optimized level on an ongoing basis by performing similar short optimization cycles using Ultima Forté
-
Quality Evaluator provided highly accurate network modeling (a correlation of approximately 83% relative to the real network statistics). Various frequency plans were analyzed prior to implementation, eliminating trial-and-error testing
-
the project was performed exactly on schedule within the allocated time frame, due to the efficiency of UltimaTM FortéTM and user-friendly interface.
Operator Benefits
-
Improved network quality – over 18% combined improvement in network KPIs
-
Improved customer satisfaction, reducing customer churn
-
Fast project turnaround and low overhead, allowing for rapid optimization on an on-going basis
-
A user-friendly product, enabling the engineering team to adopt Ultima Forté quickly and apply it in future network planning and maintenance projects
-
Increased CapEx and OpEx savings by using a mobile measurements based optimization product, the most accurate source for network modeling
